Half Persian Weave

Great for Necklaces/Bracelets

Half Persian is a great pattern for bracelets and necklaces. It is weavable with a wide variety of ring Internal Diameters / Guages. It is also a weave that works very well with rubber mixed with aluminum rings

Stainless Steel 16g 5/16" ID - OR - Aluminum 16g 5/16" ID mixed with Rubber rings 16g 5/16" ID

Note: With most weaves in chainmail there are a variety of ways to put the rings together. This is just how I find it easiest to create this weave. If you find a way that is more suited to you, or the size of the ring you are working with, do what you find is personally the best.

Step 1:

To start this weave, use 4 rings, opening 1 and closing 3.

Step 2:

Put the 3 closed rings on the 1 open ring and close it. The hardest part about this weave is getting it started. notice in the image that the middle ring overlays the far right ring. This needs to be maintained to continue the weave.

Step 3:

Add one ring going up thru the middle of the center ring and out before the end of the far right ring, then add 1 closed ring.

Step 4:

Once closed this pattern should be held tight until the next ring is inserted as it will be unstable and can be hard to get back together.

Step 5:

Add 1 more ring through the middle of the second to last ring on the right and out before the end of the far right ring, then add 1 closed ring and close.

Step 6:

Add 1 more ring through the middle of the second to last ring on the right and out before the end of the far right ring, then add 1 closed ring and close.

Step 7:

Add 1 more ring through the middle of the second to last ring on the right and out before the end of the far right ring, then add 1 closed ring and close.

Continue ad nauseum until the chain gets to the desired length.
