Forsh Chainmail Tutorial

The flower chain is a connection of 2 piecea of 4 in 1 that make it appear like flowers stringed together. This makes a nice bracelet chain or a nice necklace chain. This chain also works well for the base of head pieces.

Recommended Ring: Stainless Steel 18g 3/16" ID

Note: With most weaves in chainmail there are a variety of ways to put the rings together. This is just how I find it easiest to create this weave. If you find a way that is more suited to you, or the size of the ring you are working with, do what you find is personally the best.

Step 1:

To start this weave, use 5 rings, opening 1 and closing 4.

Step 2:

Put all 4 closed rings on the 1 open ring and close it. This will create what is called a "four-block".

Step 3:

On each side of the four-block add one ring connecting to only 2 of the ourside rings. This creates your basic flower.

Step 4:

Create a second four-block (Step 1) and lay it out with the top of the center ring pointing in the same direction.

Step 5:

Between the 2 flowers add 2 rings to hold them together. Note: make sure the 2 flowers have the rings in the center pointing in the same direction.

Step 6:

Follow Steps 1-3 again to create a third flower.

Step 7:

Between the current chain and the new flower add 2 rings to hold them together. Note: make sure that all flowers have the rings in the center pointing in the same direction.
